Joser is leaving to Australia for a little while so he got us Bassturdz together for a trip before his absence. Someone said Anderson but I convinced them to head out to Del Valle. I like this lake and we did catch some small mouth there last winter.

We left SJ at 11:00am so we were off to a late start. Roberto and Rat rogers had a little party time the night before so they were a little slow going. They did look a little under the weather but their spirits were high.

The lakes water level was really low. The lowest that I’ve ever seen. Which was a good thing actually because we were able to see a lot of fishable structure that will be great when the water level raises again. I was stoned so I don’t think I’ll remember where all the spots were because there was a bunch of them. Remember the green fence….swimbait….? ![]()
All in all it was really slow. I got bit right away on a jig with a grub trailer which worked great for the smallies last year but I lost him. I had high hopes after such a quick tap on my jig but we were quickly disappointed when we didn’t get shit for a while. Joser was rewarded with a nice trout that hit a dart headed worm. He kept it to feed his familia. Hey, us Bassturdz don’t discriminate against fish, just haters.
I did manage to hook a couple of fish on a drop shot with a 4 inch Aarons Magic Worm.(go to color, will never let you down) Other than that. We didn’t get shit except a runny nose and a buzz.(at least i got one, a buzz I mean)![]()
I can’t speak for the other Bassturdz but I wasn’t into the fishing as much as I should have been. I was really glad to get out of SJ for a day and enjoy the nice sun instead of rain and cold, drink a few brews and puff on some lah. It did get cold as a withces tit as soon as the sun set. It’s good to know that there are only a few months left until Spring. I’ll be out of work by 2:15 and at the lake by 3:30 pitchin’ into some trees or bringin’ my crank across a main lake point!
